In a hamlet 56 km from New Delhi, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was conceptualised by Mr. Vishwa Mitter Mahajan more than half a century ago. That vision was realised when J. Mitra & Bros. established their factory at E-30, Industrial Area, Sonepat, in 1966.
Water-sterilising tablets were manufactured for Defence for the next two decades. Production of soda lime began in 1968, after approval for Soda Lime IP & USP from the Drugs Controller, Haryana — a product in high demand across hospitals and medical research institutes. The land and building were purchased in 1986, and today the premises house state-of-the-art machines and testing facilities that conform to GMP norms.
